| I fished Horseshoe Lake on Wednesday 17/09, in a 5 hour session from 07.30 til 12.30 I bagged so much I couldn't lift out the keepnet, I had to lay on the bank and empty the net into the lake. I had forgotten my pole so I set up my waggler with the line clipped, I used 6mm pellet on the hook over a loose feed of 4mm pellets, a fish a chuck was almost 100% true....................... I have fished Meadow Lake a few times over the past 3 weeks, and am finding it harder to catch as the weeks progress. I have tried all baits, pole, float, and ledger
all to no avail, anyone got any ideas as to what is wrong, its as though there are no fish........................ Anonymous ANSWER It is not just Shallowbrook that has been hard going, I have tried 3 venues in the last 2 weeks that I knew to fish well, and have almosted blanked at each. After talking to several experienced fishermen at the venues, we have all agreed that temperature and pressure has been up and down causing the same fish to feed or not feed on any given day, in the same location........................... | On 07/02/09, I received via the anonymous survey, a recorded catch of a 22lb Perch from Meadow lake on a whip, either the angler who sent it in had a few tins too many or he kept his finger on the "2" key too long, the UK record stands at 5lbs 15oz ! ......................... Ian, Webmaster |
| 26/04/09... Just completed a 24hour session on Snipe Lake. Bags of silvers, and the Tench are feeding. Watch out for the ever hungry pike, they are a right pain, ok, if you like catching pike, then fish Snipe. I had one patrolling my swim, and I managed to catch one on my my feeder rod when reeling in a small roach .......... Stephen Wenn |
| 17/06/09... Meadow Lake is producing large numbers of Bream this week, whilst Snipe Lake is giving up large numbers of Tench ........... Ian, Webmaster |
